About the Instrument

This Octave Mandolin is made to be held.  With a guitar shaped body, it rests comfortably on your leg without the necessity of a strap.  It has a shallow ( 3" max) depth and a lower bout width of 13".  It's easy to hold and has a huge volume.  The easy string length is 22".  The sides and back are old Honduras mahogany and the soundboard is Sitka spruce.  It has an ebony fingerboard decorated in ivory and bloodwood ovals. and an ebony bridge.  The bindings are curly maple, and the mahogany neck features a charming Celtic knot carving.   It has a hard shell case included.  It rings like a blissful Banshee!
