Mandolarian

The Mandola is the second voice in the Mando-Band. It is like the viola to the violin. It plays 20% lower and is 20% bigger than the mandolin. The Lehmann Mandola is fully carved from European spruce and curly maple with rosewood trim. The oval sound hole adds warmth to the tone and makes it ideal for playing melody and single note music compared to the model with ff holes. It features an abalone ring around the oval hole and a lovely purfling knot inlaid on the back . This mandola was commissioned to look just like the owners mandolin that I made in 1980 - that was a looong time ago! Maybe some day there will be a mando-cello?
